Roussaillerie Farm Development
Roussaillerie Farm had ceased to be an active farm and comprised a Victorian style farmhouse with attached barns.
The concept was to create four homes that retained the original features whilst creating a contemporary internal living space.
Whilst it was originally considered that the farmhouse was Victorian, once the front render was removed to reveal the pink and grey granite below with beach pebbles in the mortar joints, it became apparent that the more likely date of construction was nearer the 17th Century. Wherever possible the original external openings were retained to respect the original usage of the buildings. However, as all internal floors and walls had to be removed, this enabled us to create contemporary houses maximising the light and space within the traditional envelopes.
